The largest area of global permafrost regions is found in Siberia. However, these landscapes are still poorly investigated. With the scientific symposium “Focus Siberian Permafrost – Terrestrial Cryosphere and Climate Change” this key permafrost region is addressed. During this symposium, scientists of different disciplines will present and discuss their latest findings with a broad and highly diverse community of permafrost scientists. The main objective of the symposium is, based on the presentation and exchange of recent results of permafrost research, to identify upcoming research topics and develop collaborative project ideas for permafrost research in the Siberian Arctic.
The symposium will take place online from 24th to 25th March 2021. Please see the time table and preliminary program here for more information about the sessions and also the announcement of the public talk on Thursday, 25 March at 6 pm CET here.
Please note that you can still register for this symposium and participate as a listener, even though the registration deadline ended already. For registration please send an e-mail to Olga.Vybornova@uni-hamburg.de.
