On April 1, 2023, the junior research group Meat the bioeconomy led by Prof. Dr. Christin Bernhold started at the University of Hamburg. The junior research group is an interdisciplinary team of scientists working on the project Meat the bioeconomy the meat industry as part of the bioeconomy: internationalization, geographies of labor, and hegemonic strategies over five years (2023-2028). The research is aligned with a common agenda, which we are implementing in three working groups (internationalization, geographies of labor, and politics and culture) with six subprojects.
The junior research group is based at the Institute of Geography in the Department of Earth System Sciences at the University of Hamburg. It is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as part of its program to support Bioeconomy as social change junior research groups.
