Since April 1, 2023, the junior research group "Meat The Bioeconomy - The meat industry as part of the bioeconomy: internationalization, labor geographies and hegemonic strategies" of Prof. Dr. Christin Bernhold is affiliated to the human geography department of the Institute of Geography. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and will run for five years (2023-2028). The team explores strategies of German meat companies in the fields of internationalization, labor geographies, politics and culture for their impact on the establishment of a sustainable mode of production.
