Support & Contact Points
Support & Contact Points
Studying at a university is, like life in our society, not free from inequality and discrimination. Barriers, power dynamics, and various forms of discrimination can hinder the pursuit of education. The university strives to address these challenges through counseling services, adjustments for disadvantages, and dedicated support points, thus contributing to making education accessible to all.
On this page, you will find information about accessibility at the Geomatikum and the Institute of Geography, as well as support services and counseling options in cases of unequal treatment, difficulties, and discrimination. Additionally, there are tips on how to incorporate diversity-sensitive content into your studies.
Support Services and Points of Contact for Unequal Treatment and Discrimination
An overview of support services is also provided by the Office for Gender Equality. We cannot claim completeness in this regard. Some dimensions of diversity and experiences of discrimination are not represented here, partly because there are no dedicated support points for these issues. We welcome any additions and further information that may be missing from these listings.
The student council (FSR) of your degree program can serve as a low-threshold point of contact, which may refer you to other resources or simply offer a listening ear for problems and complaints. The FSR Geography represents students in the Bachelor's, Master's, and teaching degree programs with Geography as a subject.
