Knowledge transfer network for fruit-growing soils in the Altes Land (WEBB)

The aim of the WEBB project (knowledge transfer network for fruit-growing soils in the Altes Land region) is to establish a network in which knowledge about fruit-growing soils in the Altes Land region is compiled and expanded.

The existing knowledge from agriculture, universities and politics is to be brought in and analyzed. This cooperation can lead to a broader and more useful knowledge of the soils for all those involved.

This network will serve as a framework for long-term cooperation in a research project. In this way, we want to develop concepts that contribute to even more sustainable soil use in fruit growing in the Altes Land region. On 21.06.2024, a WEBB workshop “Soil-based perspectives” will be held at the Jork Fruit Growing Centre, where discussion rounds will focus on the questions of what makes a good and healthy soil in fruit growing, which methods are used or could be used for this purpose.

The WEBB project has also been reported on the University of Hamburg's homepage under the heading “Transfer”, and an article has also appeared in the Newsroom.
