The Academic Office is the central contact point for questions and queries of students and lecturers at the Department of Earth System Sciences. Our tasks include the coordination of degree programs, subject counselling and exam management, as well as the administration of doctorates
Orientation Sessions WiSe 2026/27
We wish all the new students a great start to their studies! To help you get off to the best possible start, the student councils are organising orientation sessions in the week before the lecture period begins. The relevant pages will be linked here in good time before the orientation sessions.

Accessibility of the Academic Office Earth System Sciences at MIN Forum
Since April 7, 2026, we are available in person at the MIN-Forum (Bundesstraße 56a). Here's how to find us: From the foyer, please take the stairs or the elevator to the 1st floor. Enter the library and at the end of the corridor, take the elevator or stairs to the 6th floor. To make it easier to locate the student office, directional signs have been posted—please pay attention to these.
You will find the staff members in rooms 06-111 to 06-121 (for exact room numbers and office hours, see Staff and Consultation hours).
Opening hours
Monday - Thursday from 9.30 - 11.30 a.m. and 2.00 to 4.00 p.m.
