Graduation ceremony

Years of hard work deserve a ceremonial finale. In the Earth System Sciences Graduation Ceremony all bachelor's, master's and doctoral as well as habilitation graduates of the Department of Earth System Sciences will be honored. The ceremony will take place once a year, usually on the first Friday in April, to celebrate all who graduated since February the previous year. After the formal ceremony, a reception provides opportunity to celebrate what has been achieved and to enjoy the evening together with family, friends and companions.

Further information on the ceremony's content and schedule will be available on this page approximately seven weeks before the ceremony. Graduates and their guests (up to two people, maybe more depending on the number of registrations) can then register using an online form. Please only register if you have completed your program with no exams pending and if final documents have been requested from the Academic Office.

The next Graduation Ceremony will take place on Friday, 10 April 2026, 3 pm – 5 pm, followed by a reception. Registration will open soon.

Consent Photography

A photographer will be taking photos and videos during this event. We assume that persons participating in this event give us their consent to take and publish images on the Department's website. Persons have the right at any time to inform the photographer that they do not wish to be photographed individually. Upon notification, we will prevent subsequent publication.
