The Bachelor’s degree *Licenciatura em Meteorologia, Oceanografia e Clima* (MOC) provides an interdisciplinary foundational education in meteorology, oceanography, and climate science. The program focuses on the mathematical and physical description of the atmosphere and oceans, the dynamics of the climate system, the effects of greenhouse gases, and computer-based climate modelling.

The Master’s degree *Mestrado em Ciências do Mar e Atmosfera* (MMASc) deepens students’ knowledge in marine and atmospheric sciences and enables specialization in meteorology, oceanography, and climate. Areas of focus include, among others, tropical and polar weather systems, extreme weather and climate forecasting, as well as marine resources and coastal management.

Bachelor: A broad foundation in the natural sciences, with content in climatology, atmospheric physics, and oceanography. This provides a basis for later specialization in atmospheric and climate sciences, with a focus on tropical processes.

Master: An interdisciplinary education in atmospheric and climate sciences, remote sensing, geophysics, hydrology, and environmental sciences, with a focus on tropical regions. In the atmosphere/climate track, observation, data analysis, and modeling are combined to investigate climate, environmental, and natural hazards.

Bachelor: Physical and mathematical foundations are taught to understand the atmosphere and the climate system. The focus is on atmospheric and oceanic processes, atmospheric chemistry, modern measurement techniques, and computer models for weather and climate research.

Master: Deepening the study of the climate system using methods from mathematics, physics, and chemistry. The focus is on numerical modeling, programming, observational data, and weather and climate forecasting, including extreme events and climate variability.

Mainly Swedish and English: B2/C1-Niveau achelor: Primarily in Swedish. The advanced subject courses in the third year of the bachelor’s program, as well as many mandatory physics courses, are often taught in English at the institute. Master’s programs (such as in meteorology) are taught entirely in English; no knowledge of Swedish is required.
