How to get to us?
We are located on the 13th and 14th floor of the Geomatikum (address see above), an 18-storey building in the center of Hamburg. The easiest way to get here is by public transport (there are very few parking spaces). The GEOMATIKUM is located close to the Dammtor railway station ( Deutsche Bahn ), the Sternschanze fast city train station (S-Bahn) and the Schlump underground station (U-Bahn).
by train
From Hamburg Hbf (Main station) take subway line U2 (red line, direction to Niendorf-Nord) to Schlump station. After a 5 minute walk you reach the Geomatikum building.
From railway station Dammtor you may take bus number 4 (direction Wildacker or Langenfelder Damm) and get off after 6 minutes at Bundesstraße.
by plane
From Hamburg airport by taxi, it's about 12 km.
Alternatively, from Hamburg airport you can take the suburban railway (S-Bahn) line S1 (green) to Barmbek station. Change there into subway (U-Bahn) line U3 (yellow) (direction St. Pauli) until Schlump station. After a 3 minute walk you reach the Geomatikum building.
by car (not recommended, few parking possibilities)
- from Northern directions:
From motorway A7 take at exit Stellingen the highway B4/B5 (direction Hamburg City). Follow B5-route till Ring 2. Continue strait forward (B5-route turns left) into Fruchtallee. At the crossing of Schäferkampsallee and Beim Schlump (subway-station Schlump) turn left into Beim Schlump. At the next crossing turn right into the Bundesstraße and again right to the very limited parking facilities of the Geomatikum building. - from Southern directions:
From motorway A7 take at exit Bahrenfeld and follow highway B431 (direction Hamburg City). Near subway station Holstenstraße turn left into the Alsenstraße (Ring 2). After approximately 1 km turn right into the Fruchtallee. At the crossing of Schäferkampsallee and Beim Schlump (subway-station Schlump) turn left into Beim Schlump. At the next crossing turn right into the Bundesstraße and again right to the very limited parking facilities of the Geomatikum building. - from Eastern directions:
From motorway A1 or A24 take A24 till final exit Horn. Continue on the Sievekingsallee until the crossing Bürgerweide/Wallstraße/Mühlendamm. Turn right into the Wallstraße and follow until the Außenalster waters. Change left, along the Außenalster water (following the B5 highway) till the crossing Schröderstiftstraße/Beim Schlump (subway station Schlump). Turn right into Beim Schlump. At the next crossing turn right into the Bundesstraße and again right to the very limited parking facilities of the Geomatikum building.
