The Sleeping Volcanoes of the Aegean islands

Not only on land, but also beneath the surface of the sea, volcanoes lie dormant. There are particularly many of them in front of the Greek island group Santorini. Scientists want to better understand the underlying geological processes – and are presenting the first results of an international drilling ship expedition.
