guest accesses for conferences
Wi-Fi guest accesses for conferences
For conferences and larger events, Wi-Fi guest access can be requested and made available to participants. However, you should make sure beforehand that the guest WLAN (Guest-SSID of the University of Hamburg) can be received at the location of the event or contact us for information.
Guest IDs must be applied for at the Helpdesk in good time (at least 1 week) before the event.
For institutes based at the Haus der Erde the application for guest IDs is done directly by us and should not be handled by the data center (RRZ).
For a quick processing we need the following information:
- Contact details of the host person for the transmission of the identification
- Name of the event with short name for the identification (min. 3 characters)
- Number of participating persons who are required to receive an identifier
- First and last day of the period for which the identifiers are required
- Uni-Hamburg building where the event will take place
Only persons known by name are permitted to use the university network. Anonymous access to these resources is not permitted, so you (as the organizer) must ensure that the guest IDs are personalized. It is therefore a good idea to distribute the access data together with other event materials and assign the ID to a person in advance on the list of attendees.
Instructions on how to use the Wi-Fi will be handed out to you together with the ID. Further information about the UHH Guest Wi-Fi can be found at the pages of the RRZ.
